My use of NCT?

The main communication tools I use on my computer would be MySpace and also MSN and also email. I use MySpace and MSN purely for socialising. I think they are great tools to keep in contact when a friend or family member moves away or are overseas. However i do not use email for socialising i use that to keep in contact with uni and more professional/business type things.

Generally on both MySpace and MSN i won't speak or add people i don't know. The closest to adding randoms i come is adding for example, is a friend of a friend or someone who i have met out then add them on MySpace or MSN. On my bands MySpace though myself and my other band mates added a lot of randoms but that as in a different context, it wasn't for personal reasons if as for exposure.

I do know people that add multiple randoms on MySpace particularly and it amazes me how some people respond by being really interested and actually develop a friendship and then in some instances end up meeting up with that person. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad thing to add randoms, I'm sure nearly all of us have been added by a random at some stage of our Internet lives, we all have different tastes. It as pretty creepy though hen this random American tried adding me about 8 times in one week......lol.

I've been using these technologies for about 8 years now. Propbably the major influence for using them was my older brother, since he is two years older than me he explored these technologies (back then email and MSN) earlier than myself. Another reason ould have been my curiosity of the Internet, because at the age of about 10-11 i would rather go outside and play something. And once i saw my brother doing all this stuff on the internet I basically just copied him by making an email address. By then it wasn't long before my friends found out through their sources and so I've been on here ever since.

I think privacy is always going to be an issue when using all this stuff on the web especially with Internet banking and or buying items off the net e.g.ebay. You've just got to be careful and very aware in what you use and say, personally i don't find it too much of a problem even tho i know it's out there.

About Me

Hi there my name is Byron Davis and welcome to possibly the worst, or the best blog you have ever read. A little bit about myself, I'm 18 years old and was born on the Gold Coast and have lived here all my life. And I reckon there is nothing like hanging out with some mates and having a good time.

I am currently enrolled in bachelor of communications and Griffith University. The reason why I am taking this course is to develop my writing skills and also to learn new ways about communication and technology.

But my life does not revolve around uni, I have many other interests. I am also a competitive cyclist and have represented Australia 3 times in the past couple of years, and it is something that I love and can hopefully have a career.

Something else that I love is music, and I'm always up for a live gig. I am open to many styles and genres but I mainly listen to hardcore-punk/punk-rock genres. Some of my favourite bands are Blink 182, Funeral for a Friend, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday and Alexisonfire.

Well that's a little about me, bye for now.
